We work with several outstanding partners to care and advocate for Eckington. Please consider supporting our partner organizations.

Eckington Parks & Arts

In 2019, the Eckington Civic Association helped launch a partner organization to activate and beautify Eckington’s public spaces. Eckington Parks & Arts is a separate membership organization that relies on donations and volunteer time to clean the dog park at Tanner Park, organize community clean-ups on the first and third Saturday of every month, and hold events that bring all of us together.

Langley elementary PTO

Langley Elementary is Eckington’s public elementary school. The Langley Elementary PTO is a private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization of parents, teachers, and community members dedicated to support the educational experience at Langley Elementary and to make every Langley child’s potential a reality.

McKinley Tech PTO

McKinley Technology Middle and High Schools are located in the center of Eckington. McKinley Tech Middle School is Eckington’s public middle school, and McKinley Tech High School is a STEM-focused public application high school–so students from all over DC attend. The McKinley Tech PTO supports both the middle and high schools.

North Capitol Main Street

North Capitol Main Street’s mission is to revitalize North Capitol Street as a vibrant commercial corridor leading from the United States Capitol building to all points north. Chartered by the National Trust for Historic Preservation Main Street program and the DC Department of Small and Local Business Development, the group is changing North Capitol and the surrounding neighborhoods into a robust and connected community of thriving businesses and diverse offerings.

Rhode Island Avenue Main Street

Rhode Island Avenue Main Street promotes small businesses along Rhode Island Ave NE and Bladensburg Road NE.

NoMA Business improvement district

The NoMa Business Improvement District is funded through a special assessment collected from property owners within a 35-block area. The NoMa BID overlaps with southern portions of Eckington. The NoMa BID provides a variety of services to enhance the neighborhood and support its emergence as a prime business location within the District and a desirable residential neighborhood.

NoMA Parks Foundation

The NoMa Parks Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed in 2012 to establish welcoming, sustainable, beautiful spaces where people can play, refresh, and connect in NoMa, now and in the future. The NoMa Parks foundation designed and built Tanner Park and has been instrumental partner in delivering better public spaces to the community–including at Dave Thomas Circle.
