Founded in 2001, the Eckington Civic Association (ECA) promotes the civic welfare of Eckington, a community in Northeast Washington D.C.

The ECA meets the second Monday of each month (unless otherwise noted). All Eckington residents are welcome to attend, learn about neighborhood developments, and weigh in on issues impacting the community. If you are interested in becoming a member of the association (which allows you to vote at meetings, serve on committees, and become an officer of the ECA) or have any other questions, please contact us at eckingtoncivic@gmail.com! We are always looking for neighbors who want to help us continue making Eckington a wonderful place to live.

To advance its mission, the ECA: makes recommendations to the Advisory Neighborhood Commission and DC agencies about zoning, permitting, and other issues; gathers community input on issues affecting Eckington; communicates with city officials to elevate, amplify, and (hopefully) resolve neighborhood concerns; and organizes and supports community events, beautification efforts, and safety walks.

The ECA also runs a neighborhood google group, where we and other members of the community can keep Eckington residents informed about local issues and events. You can ask to join in the group or email us to add you directly.
