Advisory Neighborhood commissioners
An Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC) is a non-partisan, neighborhood body made up of locally elected representatives called Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners. The Commissioners, serve two-year terms without pay, and are elected at DC Elections in November in even-numbered years.
Eckington is part of Advisory Neighborhood Commission 5E, which also includes Truxton Circle, Bloomingdale, Edgewood, and Brookland. ANC5E meets at 7:00 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month at Friendship-Armstrong PCS in Truxton Circle.
Eckington elects two ANC Commissioners: ANC 5E03 and ANC 5E04. They should be your first point of contact for all zoning and permitting issues:
Cortney Segmen, Commissioner for ANC 5E03 (East Eckington)
Sylvia Pinkney, Commissioner for ANC 5E04 (West Eckington)
